Day 1 - October 8, Tuesday
Meet and greet at Tokyo Haneda International (HND) Airport at 9 am (place inside the airport to be announced). After meeting, we immediately depart the city for Hakone, a power spot known for its mineral-rich, healing onsens and breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, which we will photograph. Tokyo residents and citizens from all over Japan, such as the former capital Kyoto, have visited the onsens for more than 500 years and do to this day. Our lodgings welcomed the Taisho and Showa Emperors, and the current Imperial household enjoys the service of the same establishment to this day. During our evening, we will be served unforgettable Japanese cuisine comparable to the service provided at Masa as seen in the New York Times!
Day 2 - October 9, Wednesday
After breakfast and check-out, we will follow the ancient pilgrim's trail. Your JDS Photography Workshop Leader will use her experience to guide you off the beaten path to places without the prying eyes of countless tourists retaking the same photos. However, there are some must-see locations where many other visitors will be, but your JDS leader knows the best times to visit to minimize foot traffic and maximize photo opportunities. This day's highlights will include Chisuji Falls and Hot Springs, the Amazake Chaya Tea House, The Tokaido Cobblestone Roadway, Hakone Shinto Shrine, Hakone Wood Mosaic Work, Pirate Ship cruise on Lake Ashi, Ancient Buddhist Pilgrim stopover off the beaten path, transfer to Mt. Fuji.
Day 3 - October 10, Thursday
Before breakfast at our lodging in Mt. Fuji, during the blue hour, we will make preparations at one of the Fuji Five Lakes, readying our camera gear for another spectacular golden hour sunrise at Fujisan. After the golden hour, we will return to our lodgings for breakfast and then continue our day exploring Japan’s most holy and revered mountain as well as the Fuji Five Lakes. Over 95% of Japanese and 99.5% of foreign visitors have never visited all the Fuji Five Lakes: Yamanakako, Kawaguchiko, Saiko, ShÅjiko, and Motosuko Lakes, but you will. Your JDS Photography Workshop Leader will carefully consider weather conditions and logistics knowing the best locations and times to shoot around Fujisan. Throughout the day, we will take in the ecological biodiversity and enjoy Shinrin-yoku, Forest Therapy, the curative power of simply being in the healing power spots of Mt. Fuji.
Day 4 - October 11, Friday
During the blue hour, we will set up as we did the previous day at a different location to supply you a different perspective for your personal compilation of Mt. Fuji Dream Photo Tour Time.
Return to the lodgings for breakfast and a time to reflect on our shared journey. We will then leisurely return you to Tokyo-Haneda (HND) International Airport or Domestic Terminal.
