Niigata Prefecture.  The gallery’s atmosphere adds to the simple beauty that I infuse into some of my works.  When it is time to visit Yamaboshi Gallery with my glass art, I am surprised because the time flies so quickly.

2020 was a year of uncertainty and new ‘normals’, but it gave me an opportunity to spend more time in my studio creating pieces and channeling my creative spirit to add new dimensions to my glass art.  Lately, I have been anxious about opening my gallery thinking that at any minute it could be canceled, but I have found other ways to digitally show my art.  If you cannot attend the gallery, please visit Japan Dreamscapes (JDS) website and see some of my pieces there.  I considered the many conflicts surrounding production of my glass art at this turbulent time, and it has required that I evolve with the times to meet the changing expectations of a post-corona world.

To cleanse my palate from last year, I’m feeling ready to move forward and do what I can to make 2021 better.  My glass art is a testimony to my unbreakable artistic spirit.  The global pandemic challenged me to look inside myself for inspiration.  My parents, husband, and son were all sources of strength which inspired me to go in new directions.

The time for the exhibition is finally here, and I always get anxious as I start to lay out the glass art pieces.  I quietly wonder which pieces will catch the eyes of customers, and which of the pieces will be finding a new home.  I look forward to seeing some of you there, and I hope my glass art will spark an inspiration inside of you.
